ناشطة نسوية وسياسية منذ سن صغيرة، وشاركت في مظاهرات 1919 ضد الاستعمار البريطاني .
انضمت الى لجنة هدى شعراوي في حزب الوفد.
ونالت شهرة كبيرة لأرائها السياسية، بعد كتابتها مقالاتها في الصحف والتي وجهتها إلى اللورد اللنبي، المندوب السامي البريطاني لمصر والسودان، للإفراج عن سعد زغلول والمعتقلين السياسيين الأخرين من السجن .
في عام 1924 ، أسست جمعية تدعى "العمل من أجل مصر"، وترأستها حتى عام 1962.
منحها الرئيس جمال عبد الناصر وسام الكمال في 1969.
A feminist and a political activist from a young age, Wissa participated in the 1919 demonstrations against the British Occupation.
She joined Hoda Shaarawi’s committee at Al Wafd Party and became famous for her political views. She wrote several newspaper articles addressed to Lord Allenby, British High Commissioner to Egypt and the Sudan, to release Saad Zaghloul and other political detainees from prison.
In 1924, she founded a society called “Working for Egypt,” and headed it until 1962.
Wissa was awarded the Order of Virtue in 1969.
