راوية عطية أول سيدة تتقلد رتبة عسكرية في الجيش

في عام 1956، تقلدت راوية عطية رتبة نقيب في وحدة كوماندو نسائية، لتصبح أول سيدة تتقلد رتبة عسكرية في الجيش.

لعبت دور حيوي في حرب السويس حيث ساعدت على تدريب 4000 سيدة على الإسعافات الاولية والتمريض.

وكانت أيضا اول سيدة تنتخب في البرلمان عام 1956.

In 1956, Rawya Attia became the first woman to be
commissioned as an officer in the army and held the rank of
captain in a female commando unit. She played an active role in
the Suez War and helped train 4,000 women in first aid and
nursing amid the war. Attia was also the first woman to be
elected to parliament in 1956.
