أسماء فهمي هي من رائدات الحركة النسوية وتعليم الفتيات في مصر. حصلت على ليسانس تاريخ وماجستير في علم النفس التعليمي من جامعة لندن عام 1937 .
تبرعت بالأرض التي أنشأت عليها كلية البنات الجامعية، لتشجع العائلات المحافظة على ارسال بناتهم الي الجامعة.
كانت اول سيدة عضوة في مجلس إدارة جامعة عين شمس وكانت أيضا نائبة رئيس حزب بنت النيل والذي أسسته وتولت رئاسته درية شفيق، وكانت من ضمن السيدات الرائدات اللتي حاربن من أجل حصول المصريات على حقهم الانتخابي .
A leader in the Egyptian Suffragette Movement and an advocate for
girl’s education, Fahmi received her BA in history and her MA in
educational psychology from the University of London in 1937. She
donated the land of the first girls’ collage, to encourage
conservative families to send their daughters for higher
education. She was the first female member of the board of Ain
Shams University and the VP of “Daughter of the Nile” party,
founded and headed by Doreya Shafik. She was among the first
women who fought for women’s right to vote.
