حصلت على منحة دراسية لدراسة الطب في إنجلترا عام 1922، مع خمسة طالبات أخريات، لتصبح أول جراحة مصرية.
في عام 1933 ، عينت "كوكب" طبية في مستشفي كيتشنر وعملت بها لمدة 30 عا ًما، وكانت أول من تولت رئاسة المستشفى بعد " أول من تتقل من تغيير اسمه الي مستشفى شبرا العام.
وأول من تتقلد د منصب "حكيمباشي" من المصريات.
أسست أول مدرسة للتمريض في مصر وهي أول طبيبة امرأة تنضم لعضوية نقابة الأطباء.
In 1922, Kawkab Nassef received a scholarship to study medicine in Britain, together with five other female students.
She became the first female surgeon in Egypt. In 1933, she was hired at Kitchener’s Charity Hospital, and worked there for 30 years. She was its first
director after its name was changed to Shubra General Hospital and was the first Egyptian female chief physician.
She also founded the first nursing school and was the first female physician to join the syndicate of medical doctors.
