محامية وسياسية وباحثة حقوقية وناشطة نسوية، عينت عائشة راتب وزيرة للتأمينات والشؤون الاجتماعية خلال الفترة من 1974– 1977، وكانت أول امرأة تعين في منصب سفيرة، ورأست البعثة الدبلوماسية المصرية في الدانمارك والمانيا الغربية.
حصلت عائشة راتب على شهادة الدكتوراه في الحقوق عام 1955، وترأست قسم القانون العام في جامعة القاهرة.
A lawyer, politician, human rights and womens activist, Aisha Rateb served as Minister of Social Affairs from 1974 to 1977.
She was also appointed as Egypts first female ambassador where she led the diplomatic mission in Denmark and West Germany. Rateb received her PhD in international law in 1955, and became the head of International Law Department at Cairo University.
