I could not believe what I read in the Copts
United site about the scourging of a Mr. Malak Boshra., an Egyptian Christian
worker in Saudi Arabia. He received 2500 lashes and a 5-year prison sentence,
ostensibly for committing the crime of robbery. But what makes this news
believable is that it took place in a country like Saudi Arabia!
This sort of event makes one wonder if we are really living in the Twenty First
Century. When we see and hear about countries adopting the rules of times past.
Times of ignorance and backwardness, and rules that once governed primitive
nomadic tribal groups. Such rules are certainly not suitable for our times where
not only the rights of man but the rights of animals are protected and respected.
No wonder that this is happening in Saudi Arabia. For this country, with its
dominating oppressive ideology, is behind the desolation, terrorism, and wars
all over the world.
Saudi Arabia is the Great Satan of our times. It exported its destructive Wahabi
doctrines, promulgated by a Mohammad ben Abdel Wahab in the Eighteenth Century
AD, to the Moslem World. The result is the ben Ladens and Zarquawis spreading
suffering and sorrow in our planet.
Indeed Saudi Arabia’s rulers should be put on trial for the countless crimes
committed against so many nations and countries. >From the Philippines to the
USA and from Chechnia to Kenya, no place has escaped their harm.
Saudi Arabia forbids the Christian workers from carrying a Bible, and allows no
churches on its land. This is happening at a time it finances the building of
countless mosques all over Christendom, including the most Christian of the
cities, like Rome.
Saudi Arabia is a country where “the believers” are flogged if they do not
interrupt whatever they are doing to observe the five daily prayer times! But do
not be deceived by this veneer. This country, presumably the protector of Islam,
and the one that applies Islamic law with an unequal strictness and zeal, is
rampant with social corruption and decay to the core. This apparent paradox is
well known to any one who lived there and had more than casual contacts and
knowledge of inner workings of the Saudi society.
The international community should put Saudi Arabia on trial for the crimes
committed inside and outside its borders. This is overdue and urgent. It should
be attended before more suffering and destruction are brought up into our world.
Saudi Arabia is the main cause behind the suffering, humiliation, and aggression
committed against my people, the Copts. The native Christians of Egypt. We
should go after the snake head and hit it hard.
